A movement to weave Lancaster County together
The Weaver Awards are a way we can amplify and support the people who are making good things happen.
As a Community Host in partnership with Weave: The Social Fabric Project at the Aspen Institute, we will lead a four-year effort to find, support, and celebrate everyday neighbors who are building trust, nurturing belonging, and weaving the social fabric in our community.
The Lancaster County Community Foundation and Lancaster County Local Journalism Fund are Community Hosts of the Weaver Awards, a national effort to strengthen trust and connection at the local level.
The Weaver Awards celebrate connection in everyday places
How does it work?
We are kicking off a four-year effort to find, support, and celebrate everyday neighbors who are building trust, nurturing belonging, and weaving the social fabric in our community. This year, 20 local individuals or small organizations throughout Lancaster County will be chosen to receive awards of $2,500 to help grow their local impact and spark new connections.
Weaver Award Recipients will:
Receive $2500 to support their efforts
Inspire others by sharing how they are connecting people to each other.
Meet other weavers from across our community
Be part of the growing movement in Lancaster County to better know your neighbors, grow deeper roots, and help build local solutions to move our community forward

RegisterAbout Community Hosts and Partners
The Lancaster County Community Foundation and the Lancaster County Local Journalism Fund are Community Hosts for the Weaver Awards. We were selected via a grant process with The Aspen Institute's Weave Social Fabric Project because of our commitment to strengthening community connection across Lancaster County as well as our readiness to manage grants, convene gatherings, and sustain this work.
We are hosting these awards, but the community helps shape them.
To ensure the awards are local, relevant, and representative, we are building a local advisory group to help score applications and decide on final awards.
