Weave Lancaster County Together
It might feel like everything is coming apart at the seams. That we’re disconnected from each other and can’t make a difference. That tuning out is the only way to get through the day.
But look around, and you’ll find there are more people weaving the social fabric of our community together than people trying to unravel it.
Every community has neighbors who bring people together: Those who run community gardens, host a podcast club, organize local kickball leagues, or check in on elders.
We call these people weavers.
Instead of tuning out, weavers turn up.
The Lancaster County Weaver Awards
The Weaver Awards celebrate and support the people doing good in our community.
This year 20 local individuals or small organizations throughout Lancaster County will be chosen to receive awards of $2,500 to grow their local impact and spark new connections.
Who is weaving your neighborhood?
Who can get a Weaver Award?
For someone to be considered for an Award they need to:
Be 18 or older
Live and serve in Lancaster County
Have a project that helps connect neighbors and fosters relationships between them
If the project is part of an organization, the organization must have an annual budget below $250,000
Welcome any neighbor who wants to participate in their initiative
Proposals will be reviewed by a panel of Weaver Award team members and community members. Award winners will be notified in August 2026. All nominations will be celebrated!
You know your neighborhood best. Who have you seen weaving threads of connection through our community? It could be a friend, a neighbor, a co-worker, or it could be you.

As a Community Host in partnership with Weave: The Social Fabric Project at the Aspen Institute, we will lead a four-year effort to find, support, and celebrate everyday neighbors who are building trust, nurturing belonging, and weaving the social fabric in our community.
The Lancaster County Community Foundation and Lancaster County Local Journalism Fund are Community Hosts of the Weaver Awards, a national effort to strengthen trust and connection at the local level.
